  All of the chaos destroy 7"s are basically gone to my knowledge...so it only took about a week or so.

Japanese record reviews make me smile.

  I honestly cannot believe how fast this semester went; it's already finals! I honestly cannot wait till winter break because I'll finall have a chance to slowdown...I started the semester mentally and emotionally exhausted and am finishing mentally and physically exhausted...

This semester has taught me that stress is all relative, people feel that they are as stressed as they can be until they get busier. then their stress baseline just goes up...For example, last semester I thought I was busy; I was doing peer mentor leadership stuff, working in the honors longue, and taking a full class load. This semester I worked in the computer labs, worked on the peer mentor leadership team, worked in a discover class, worked in a sem 101 class, took 5 once a week 300 level classes, was vice president of psych club, got inducted/met for psi chi, had band practices, and reordered my social support network. I did the math and for just work/meetings, school, and homework I had about a 70 hour week. I don't feel any busier than last semester though...

Things coming up in the life of mike:

-FINALS (2 papers and 4 tests next week, yay!)
-Band practice/Tour
-Going to connecticut and possibly massachusetts and rhode island
-Rokitansky Demo Tape
-January Orientation Session
-Chaos Destroy 7"

  Halloween went smoothly this year. I was liz for halloween and she was me. I have to say a skirt was very nice to wear.

I also played my first game of beer pong (with water in my cups) and won. I think I had the advantage of being the only sober person playing.

It's getting closer to winter break, which means it is also closer to the tour! I'm hopefully going to travel a bit aside from that as well...probably to conneticut and possibly to boston.

I'm surprised how well school has been going, although crunch time is approaching...

next semester will hopefully be significantly better...

  there is a good chance that i will be taking classes at oxford this summer...i hope it goes through because it'll be nice to be in england when i'm a bit older. i'm hoping that some of my friends can make it too...

i also heard from mark/wankys that if i were to go i could do vocals for them at a few shows...huge incentive to go.

tour this christmas? hopefully.

class has actually been pretty good this semester, less theory, more application.
-next monday is a trip to arlington country jail
-following monday is a trip to the museum of crime and punishment
-sometime this semester is a human dissection
-end of the semester is a (fake) crime scene
-finally getting to do (fake) case studies

rokitansky has recorded.

still not really sleeping...i think i've lost like 15 pounds.

i want to leave this area.

  school has started full swing already...lots of reading and lots of long classes...i guess that's what i get for having 5 3 hour classes...it's been really nice to see all of my old friends, i've even managed to make a few new ones already.

still doesn't really feel like i'm 100% back...my sleep is still pretty messed up.

tropic thunder was better than i expected.

  the past two days have been a lot of fun. i really like playing music, especially with kenny. i think the project we're working on, currently titled "Candiru" and originally titled "treepuncher", has a good deal of potential...it was a least good enough to get a solid reaction out of erik, who kindly added vocals to the mix.

it would be nice to see what we have recorded put to vinly (most likely as a lathe), but we have yet to hear what everything fully sounds like...it could also be a chance to start gas satori up again, possibly under another name as a reincarnation of the band...or just an excuse to use "treepuncher" as a band name...so much potential...i'm still in favor of "humpty dumpty" as well...

it was refreshing to scream a bit, but i'm definately out of practice.

i really want to see this tour happen.

  i'm back from portland, it was pretty good...i've never seen so many bikes in one place.

i got to go see a roller derby championship, which was interesting and oddly arousing...i also went to mt. st. helens and mt. hood...

seattle had surprisingly nice weather...their aquarium sucks compared to ours though...

the museum of terror books reaffirm my love for junji ito.

i still really miss her, but things are better now i think...it's just kind of an odd feeling to have to reform one's social support structure so damn fast...i wonder if this is what shikabane were feeling when they came up with "living for someone or living for myself"...

  people are very stupid...or at least HATE to read and/or use any bit of common sense...i've noticed this working as an orientation leader and while working at the computer labs at my school, some high marks:

-people who get mad when they can't print 100+ pages when there are signs all over stating "no more than 50 pages at one time"

-people who get mad when they can't print one slide per page when printing power points when there are signs all over stating "print 6 slides per page"

-people trying to use the electric stappler and then asking if there are stapples when there is a sign in front saying "we are out of stapples for the time being"

-people asking where their print out is when it is right behind them sitting on a rack with other print outs

-people asking to grab their one page print out while I am sorting through 500+ pages of print outs

-people expecting their print outs the second they click print print when the printer is busy

-people asking what the log in is for the computer when all they have to do is press enter (there are signs for this)

-people asking why the computer won't start when it isn't turned on (they just have to press a button)

-people asking "is this the computer lab" when they are standing in a computer lab with a large sign saying "welcome to st joe's computer labs"

-people asking what time we open/close when there is a sign right behind them stating our hours

-the other night a student and professor were asking me why the student's personal computer was going slow. my first response was that i am not trained in computers and that I help with print outs. they then asked if i could still take a look...i did, and there was nothing slow with the computer...it was actually very fast...the student assumed that everything should open the very second you click it...on a 4 year old laptop...i might be able to excuse the student...but not the teacher.

-two nights ago a lady asked me if there was any way to get a document back to its original form after she changed and then saved it

-people who wear high heals to orientation

-people who wear high heals to orientation at marymount (for those of you who have not been, there are many, many hills/stairs)

-people who ask a professor if it is okay to "text" in class

-people who ask a professor if college is hard

I saw the Dark Knight today. The Joker was AMAZING. He was fantastic. He had a great voice, posture, etc. The movie itself was good, not great. I don't want to give too much away, but I thought that there were too many characters, the dialogue was rushed, and not enough time with batman and the joker. I thought that they should have down played two face in this movie and saved him for another one.

  I came across these sites today: lavamus, justmusicstore, and allmuzz (i think it's all the same people...)

They have the chaos destroy demo mp3s FOR SALE... What the fuck.... I would not honestly care if it was for free, but they're charging money for it!!! GAH!

Other bands I noticed with stuff for sale on this site after a quick glance through: Wanky's (ep and lp), Merciless Game (split ep) and Kamikaze Noise (ep), as well as the down town noise punk comp...

it's a russian based site, so i don't really know what to do....

so damn lame!!!

  its really lame that the new syphilitic vaginas lp is limited to 135 copies. i'm pretty sure they could at least sell 300, especially if they were cheaper than the $20ppd. that whole lable needs to make bigger pressings...50 copies of the 9", 100 of the tape, etc...lame. i think i managed to get one of the 15 left though. he never replies though.

i did pick up an old stock copy of "obey" by the brainbombs...dont really know what made me think of them the other day, but finding that most of their stuff is now out of print made me scramble to get some more before its gone...urge to kill is such a masterpiece.

i also got my tax return! doubled my bank account...which is happy and sad at the same time...i should save it...but i think i'm gonna buy the first laughin' nose 7" and maybe the LSD 7" and deadless muss 7"...maybe...or i'll spend it all on space invaders merch....

  so i finally got a chance to listen to my copy of the transformer lp...it is FANTASTIC. it seriously the middle ground between kikeiji and masturbation...which makes sense because its made up of people from those bands. the entire production is super awesome and LOUD. and the masturbation vocalist is back! great record, so rocking but still punk. just great.

  blah...

i got the wanky's record in the mail today and the vinyl record was shattered...it was definately from a combination of poor packaging (thing cardboard mailer that didn't really give support) and a poor postal service...i emailed the label just now, so maybe (maybe) they'll send me another or something...i dunno...

edit: i talked to the guy and he's sending another copy, although I'm offering to pay shipping because i should have asked for insurance (and he's nice enough not to have even mentioned that)
